What to expect
Reasonable suspicion training gives supervisors something a policy document cannot: the confidence to act correctly in the moment. We cover the observable signs of alcohol misuse and controlled-substance use — appearance, behavior, speech, and odor — and how to document them objectively rather than by conclusion.
The course also walks through the part that protects your company: what a supervisor may and may not say, how to remove someone from a safety-sensitive function, who authorizes the test, and how the observation must be recorded and retained.
For DOT-regulated employers this training is not optional — supervisors of safety-sensitive employees must complete at least 60 minutes on alcohol misuse and 60 minutes on controlled substances. Untrained supervisors are a common audit finding and a weak point in any wrongful-termination dispute. We deliver it onsite or scheduled around your shifts, with certificates for your files.
